and then turn around and sell it for $179 – $269?

(Depending on your training and experience)

YOU WOULD JUMP AT THE CHANCE,
WOULDN’T YOU?  WHO WOULDN’T??

  • YOU MOST CERTAINLY CAN DO THIS!
  • I CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO…
  • Price and Sell Your Wreaths With A 500% to 800% Mark-up!
  • With my how-to, instructional training on my DVDs,
  • Along with coaching & training in Best of Nancy,
  • And with this latest Version 3 of “The Secret Vendor List”

YOU can tap into my secret resources that I spent almost 30 years developing. I spent many hours walking the halls of the Atlanta Merchandise Mart. I interviewed sales reps, and owners of companies while I closely inspected the merchandise they carried. I compared terms, minimum orders, shipping costs and much more! I came in contact with literally thousands of suppliers through the years to choose from. My…what a daunting task that was!

I did make a lot of mistakes! I did loose a lot of money on bad purchases. I want to make sure you don’t go through that. You can learn from my costly mistakes, saving you money lots of cash when you are purchasing wholesale. I have 30 vendors on my list who were the ones who “made the cut”, but there were MANY who did not!

Free Videos! Learn How to Make a Bird House Wreath

Want to Learn How to Make a Wreath?

My FREE Video Series Will Teach You
How to Make a Bird House Wreath.

I have been working very hard lately!  I have filmed a series of videos just for YOU that are absolutely FREE.

“Wreath Tips From Start to Finish” will teach you how to make a wreath, a beautiful one at that!

In this seven video series, I will be teaching you from start to finish how to make a beautiful XL bird house door wreath!  I have had many requests for years asking me how to make a bird house wreath so I decided to make this one a FREE video in my “Wreath Tips” series!

Remember, there are a total of seven (7) videos, and you can watch them at NO CHARGE TO YOU — these are my gift to you.  Why?  Because I know many of you are aspiring designers who just need a little boost – a little help to get started.  And, many of you, like me, have battled chronic illness for years.  I needed JOY, I needed  something that made me feel good about myself again.  I pray that this series does the same for you, getting you started on a path that leads — well — who knows where?

I released the very first in this series in January, when I showed you how to add honeysuckle and preserved sponge mushrooms to a wreath.  (But we are not going to be adding a clay pot to this wreath as I did in the first.)  If you haven’t seen it, or don’t remember what we did, here is a link to it, and I certainly recommend watching that segment again:

http://bestofnancy.com/wreath-tips-honeysuckle-vine-preserved-mushrooms/

The second video (Vol 2-A) in my “Wreath Tips” series is about supplies, and adding many greens to your wreath.  I get emails and requests all the time about the many different forms and types of greens I use in a wreath.  Well, in this video, you will find out!

And….SURPRISE! I am also going to be telling you also how you can find out where I purchase my own greens at AMAZINGLY low prices!

Here is a link to this second FREE video for you.  I hope you enjoy it and learn from it.  I will be releasing these to each of you in my newsletters until you have all seven (7) FREE videos in the series.

http://youtu.be/_oQK0A6SxDc

I know without a doubt that after viewing the details and steps with me as I make a beautiful, full, extra large bird house wreath, you’ll be able to make your own also.

In one of the videos, I even show you how to buy an inexpensive white wood birdhouse from Michael’s (my local craft & hobby store) and distress it in such a way that it looks like birds have been using it for many years! Look at this sweet, rustic bird house above after I have added it to this special wreath.

Mother’s Day Special & New Release of “Secret Vendor List” Vol. 3

Mother’s Day Special & New Release of
“Secret Vendor List” Vol. 3

Beauty That Lasts;
Silk Flowers, No Longer Silk Anymore

It is not hard to design a beautiful arrangement out of artificial flowers which will be with you for many years.  My goodness, it is amazing how artificial flowers have changed in my years in the floral design business.

I still have customers asking me for silk flowers, which were experimented with starting in 1970.  For a while all you could find was silk or plastic, and actually the plastic was better.

I know you must remember the arrangements belonging to relatives which sat on their kitchen tables.  If you touched them, they were sticky and had a fine coating of a hairy type substance on them — dust and dirt!  Yuck!  I still remember the way they felt.

And then when the flower cleaning sprays came out, they became even dirtier.  Some people even thought if you sprayed hairspray on an arrangement it would last longer and stay cleaner longer, but not so.

One of the first changes was latex.  The first year I saw it at the Atlanta Gift Market, I fell in love with latex magnolias.  They looked so real — nice and stiff — yet soft to the touch.  Yes, I purchased tons of those, and then got stuck when heat or sun turned them dark brown.

But, they finally “got it right”!  Just look how beautiful the flowers are, and how vibrant their colors, in the arrangement above.  This arrangement just happens to be the one that I made filming “Buds & Blossoms” DVD.

Silk flowers, even though still called silk, are no longer silk anymore.  They are all synthetic.  Some may still be from latex, but the new latex process has been perfected in such a way that they no longer turn brown, thank Heavens!

It is so easy to make a beautiful arrangement with these real-looking, synthetic blossoms.  These arrangements will literally last for years.

Synthetic flowers are true to color, and are important accessories for any room in your home.  The best thing is they really don’t require much, if any, care.  They don’t need to be watered, pruned, or sprayed, and a quick blow from your hair dryer or a few poofs from a can of air (the kind used to clean out your computer keyboard) will keep them dust free.

A wonderful thing about using these new synthetic flowers is that you can purchase almost any type of flower you like.  If you are truly a horticulture expert, you’ll probably be able to find a synthetic substitute that looks just like the real thing.

It is now possible to have a vase of beautiful tulips looking like they have just been picked from your garden matching your decor year round — and I mean artificial ones.  You can arrange artificial tulips in a vase just like the real ones above.  When crocuses are not blooming, you can have silk ones.  Succulents, hellebores, foxgloves, pepper berries, branches, and so many other varieties are always in plentiful supply.

So, take a look around your local hobby store, and see which “almost fresh” flowers you would like sitting on your table…

Latest Revision of “Secret Vendor List” Coming Soon

The Secrets I’ve Held Onto For Many Years are Growing & Growing & Growing More in my Upcoming Release — Version 3!

If you’re looking to tap into the resources of a floral designer with 25 (plus) years of experience, this will be one of the most important newsletters you’ve EVER received!  And…the reason is…Version Three of my highly sought after “Secret Vendor List” is being released soon!

“Secret Vendor List”

NEWLY REVISED – Volume 3

http://LadybugWreaths.net/SecretVendorList/

Do you have any clue how many emails I received through the years from customers wanting to know:

  • “Can you just tell me one of your vendors?”
  • “Please tell me where you purchased the beautiful wisteria leaves you use in every wreath?”
  • “If you’ll tell me this, I promise not to sell online or compete with you, it is just for my personal use…”

Honestly, I had worked VERY hard for all of that type of information when I walked the halls of the Atlanta Market day after day after day.  I spent hours negotiating prices with sales reps, and then negotiating minimum order amounts.

My husband and I spent unbelievable amounts of money traveling to Atlanta for days on end, two and three times a year.  We paid for hotel rooms near the Market and then paid taxi cabs to drive us in every day because of a lack of parking.  The price of meals was exorbitant.

What could have and should have been a pleasure trip for us was not.  It was some of the hardest work I did as a business owner.  When you are going to spend $60,000 to $90,000 on merchandise in 5 days, you had better do your homework, or you’ll be in serious trouble.

It was finally a dear friend, Jim Cockrum, well-known Internet Entrepreneur and Author who convinced me to let go of my closely guarded secrets!  And, I have to tell you — that was the BEST decision I ever made!

The JOYS that I have experienced as I watched customer after customer, and student after student achieve their dreams just enforced that decision to finally release my “Secret Vendor List”. That truly has been the best decision I have EVER made. I love seeing my customers and coaching students succeed as they start designing their own beautiful creations and as they become Internet Entrepreneurs. It is so fulfilling!

How to Change Facebook Page Apps

Facebook Page Apps

If you have a business, you need a Facebook Page for your business! I know I have blogged on this topic several times but I am still amazed at how many businesses are missing out on this opportunity!

Enough about that – this post is for those who have a Facebook page and want to understand more about the role of apps in the new Facebook page design.

I am talking about those four images under the cover image. (See below)

Facebook Pages Changes Design Apps

You now have room for four images!  You can not move or remove the Photos app but you can change or remove the other three.  This is important ‘real estate’ on your Facebook page!  You will want to optimize this space for your business.

We just added several training documents to BestofNancy in the premium members area that show you how to change these apps as well as how to make and add custom images.

If you want to learn how to setup your Facebook page, we show you how!  Learn more by going to learn Facebook Pages and much, much more.

I Want to Know About Each of You!

I Want to Know About Each of YOU!

Most of You Know ALL About me…

I put a different post on my Facebook page today. It suddenly dawned on me that I have well over 2,000 people on my newsletter list, and around 2,500 “likes” on my Facebook page. This means that there are close to 5,000 people who know a lot about Nancy Alexander!

I also started thinking that I don’t know nearly as much about each of you, as I would like to! Thousands of you have ordered my products from me for many years. I recognize your names, particularly the many of you who are repeat customers. Sometimes, I remember faces if I have seen a picture of you on Facebook or location. But, for the most part, I cannot put a face with the name.

When you call or email me to place an order for a wreath, I often recognize your voices. I really try to remember what you ordered from me last when you say you want something similar in size, shape, and color. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be! I sincerely wish I knew each of you, my loyal and faithful customers, students, and followers as much as you know me.

So, This is What I put on my Facebook Page Today:

What are “YOU” up to today?

Most of you know all about me… :o ). I am a child of God, am married to the man of my dreams, have an amazing family – with four “exceptional” grandchildren. I run a growing, bursting at the seams, business that I love!

Most importantly, God has entrusted me with a “ministry” helping and encouraging so many of you. This is one of the many surprising, and miraculous gifts I feel so unworthy to have received. I am blessed and humbled to be able to share with you how I have “overcome” many obstacles in my life — Thank You Lord!

Now, P-L-E-A-S-E… I really want to know about each of you!

Notes From Happy Customers

Email from Susie: Thank you, Nancy for always making my day. I sold my first wreath this weekend. WooHoo! And it’s all because of you! God works in mysterious ways — yes He does! You will never know how much I appreciate the “Secret Vendor List”. I refer back to it so often, it is so much more than I ever expected. I can’t wait for updates! I know God is blessing you in this journey. You are still my favorite wreath-maker! ~Susie~

Email from Tammy:  Thank you so very much for the wreath.  It is perfect!  I will take a photograph of it tomorrow as it is pouring rain today and the photo just would not do it justice.  I truly appreciate your time and talent!  Gratefully,  ~Tammy~

Email from Joan:  Blessings to you.  I have enjoyed reading your newsletters, and am very thankful for coming across one of your wreaths in one of my favorite magazines, Country Sampler, a few years ago.  Your journey has not been easy, with your continual health problems, but I was so happy to read that your health has improved.  I just wanted to comment today, my admiration of you.  The many previous years working long, tiresome hours when you owned your shop.  How you’ve been inspired by other special people that God has brought into your life to put you where you are today, teaching others via the Internet, and learning DVDs (which I previously purchased a set of for wreath design).  Keep up the wonderful work that you do!  In God’s grace, ~Joan~

My Tips for a GREAT Yard Sale

My Tips for a GREAT Yard Sale

“Yard Sale Treasures”

REALLY! Everyone wants to know how I always have a GREAT yard sale and make lots of money! So, I’ll tell you some of my tips here, and you can read about the others in my popular e-book, “Yard Sale Treasures”.

FOUR TIPS FOR THE BEST YARD SALE EVER!

 NUMBER ONE – ADVERTISING:

I take out an ad for our yard sale in our local newspaper. I know they’re expensive, but don’t hold back on this one! I first told the lady I wanted the boldest, showiest ad they had so she would know that up front.

I told her I wanted a bold headline with all caps, a yellow background, and a border. The title of my ad was: “BEST YARD SALE EVER!!”

Make sure your ad either begins with a number (like your house number), the letter A, or the letter B. Do you know why? It is because yard sale ads are in alphabetical order. You really want your “showy” ad right up near the top.

I listed every single thing I could think of — yes, I really did. My ad was big! It was long! It caught everyone’s attention!

I ran my ad for 2 days, Friday and Saturday, for a Saturday yard sale.

I ended my ad with “YOU’LL BE SORRY IF YOU MISS THIS ONE!!”

Then, I took out a FREE ad on Craigslist. You can put anything you want in this ad.

NUMBER TWO – SIGNAGE:yard sale treasures

I purchased fluorescent orange poster paper.

We used the widest Magic Markers we could find in black.

Use as few words as possible on your sign! Mine said: YARD SALE, then a big, bold arrow pointing in the right direction, and then Allen Woods (my subdivision).

If your signage is correct with arrows pointing in the right direction, they do not need to know your street name, or even house number until they pull onto your road.

My husband sat down before the yard sale and listed every major road all around us. He then rode around and figured signs from those intersections, and where the arrows needed to point at every single turn until they arrived at our house. Everyone complimented us on how easy it was to find our house! We had about 12 signs!

NUMBER THREE – PRICING:

I know it is a pain! Believe me I know!!! But price EVERYTHING!

You’ll get more money for each and every thing you sell. Even half used bottles of shampoo, dog supplies, old books, children’s toys, clothes – everything!

Don’t skimp on pricing materials! Buy hang tags at an office supply store! It will be worth it! Buy pricing stickers, too, for other items. Pin prices on with safety pins, if necessary. (Note: see how we made over $1000 at our yard sale.)

Have smaller poster type pieces of paper to tape to tables, in addition to putting prices on each thing.

NUMBER FOUR – NEGOTIATE:

Don’t sit behind a table and let everyone come to you, if you have a crowd.

Walk around, greet your guests, talk to them about the day, if you see them looking at something, discuss it with them.

Be willing to negotiate a price — that is part of the thrill of a yard sale.

If there is something you just WILL NOT negotiate on, put “firm” on the price tag.

Wear something with big pockets to hold your money and, every so often, go inside and empty them, leaving only enough to make change with you.

Have plenty of help, if you are going to have a big one like we did.

We had a minimum of three people walking around all the time.

On several occasions, we had up to 30 people shopping, asking questions, and buying.

Having a Yard Sale?

Can YOU Really Make Over $1,000 with a Yard Sale?

Well, YES, you DEFINITELY CAN make over $1,000 having a yard sale!
I’ll tell you how I did it…

yard sale treasures

Being an Artist, a Crafter, a Designer, and a lover of eclectic antique “treasures”, you can imagine what I must bring home. Well…maybe you can’t imagine, after all! Lol!

I am certainly not what you would call a “hoarder” by any means, but if I find a great deal on something that I find intriguing, then I must bring it home! Sometimes, I definitely think it may NOT be a good thing that I can enter an Antique Mall, or walk up a driveway to a yard sale, and spot these treasures long before I even get to them!

There are pluses and minuses to this particular “gift?”. On the plus side, my home, garden, and shop are filled with many eclectic treasures that I adore! They brighten my day as I glance at each one in my goings and comings. They bring a smile or a pleasant thought as I remember where I accidentally found that particular one.

And, then there is the minus side, our large attic was also filled with many eclectic treasures that I just could not pass up — even though I didn’t have the perfect spot for them. I would think — well, I just know the kids (not really kids now) might want to use this one day, so I’ll save it for them. But, they really didn’t want most of this “stuff”!

Also, if you really want to know the truth, I just couldn’t bear to let go of things from my parent’s home, my aunt’s home, and my grandparents home when they left their earthly homes.

Okay, it all caught up with me about a month ago. I had much too much stuff! I had accumulated things from Yard Sales, or Tag Sales, thinking I would sell it on Amazon. Then, there were baby clothes, toys, and…well…junk, junk, and more junk!

Make money with yard sale treasures

I told my son and his wife if they would help me clean out the attic, the garage, and my shop and hold the yard sale here – that I would give them ALL the money. Of course, they jumped at the chance to make just a little more to pay on our grandson, Austin’s, medical bills from when he was a preemie in the NICU. They were probably thinking $400 to $600 maybe??

But, we all got started cleaning out. And, YES, I had definitely saved too much JUNK! I’m telling you – and I’m not kidding – we had mostly “junk”!!! I had saved things I never should have saved! And, since I have lost over 100 lbs, there were still my “UGH” clothes that I never wanted to look at again.

yard sale treasures

The REALLY funny thing about this story is that I did not sell any of my treasures – the things I loved! I just got rid of the junk making room for **MORE** treasures! Shhhhh…… don’t mention that one to my hubby, he hasn’t figured that one out yet!

yard sale treasures

So, now do you want to know how I did it — how I made $1,258.00 on junk at my yard sale? I only had one item which sold for $35.00, one which sold for $15.00, and ALL of the rest sold for $10.00 or less. Well, actually, most of it sold for $1, $2, and $3.

Facebook Page – Timeline Changes

How to create Facebook Pages Using New Timeline Layout

If you use Facebook at all you know that they have been promoting their new timeline layout.  Many of those with personal profiles have changes over.

Now Facebook is telling all Page owners that all pages will be converted to the timeline format on April 1st.  No, I do not think that this is an April Fools gig!  :o)

The training we had in Best of Nancy a few weeks ago was on the upcoming changes and how to maximize these changes for business pages.  I have made a total of 3 video tutorials showing how to make these changes.

In summary, here is what you need:

Cover image: 851×315
Profile Pic: 180×180

Pick three apps that you want to highlight and use for visitor interaction.

Overall I think the changes are going to help businesses interact with their visitors/fans and I encourage you to learn what you can do to use Facebook to promote your business.
