  4. Lynstr3 says:

Hello everyone, I’ve just finished listening to the conference calls. I loved the insite given for mailing and pricing your wreaths. I also listened to the info for setting up an “etsy” account. I’m not ready to do that yet, I don’t quite have enough inventory to sell. I’m still trying to post pictures, I can’t get the understanding of transfering without getting frustrated. I will keep trying. Can someone give me some ideas on what/how to decorate grapevine balls and trees? A friend of mine gave me some assuming I would know how to use them. Help before they find how that i’m clueless! lol.

Hi! I am Dodie, my partner Cheryl and just started a partnership about two months ago; she had been doing some on her own but needed a partner so here I am. We have an incredible story that brought us together. We both met through a mutual friend who had loss her son, 2008, I loss my daughter in a traumatic car crash (she was 19) March 2009 and then in June 2010 Cheryl loss her son (he was 25). We think our children and God brought us together because we did not know each other before this and live about five miles from each other. We are trying to put all of our energy into building our business while we continue to work full time. We have named our new business Jay & LA Intertwined Designs. in memory of Jay and Laura-Ashley. So far we have definintely been too busy to think (which is good) and we hope our hard work will heal our hearts and bring pleasure to the clients who purchase our work.
We do have one little issue; we CANNOT locate baby blue mesh University of NC blue? We have ordered and spoken and looked on line but it is always turquoise – we like the foil in it but can’t even find that – please suggest a vendor. We often go to Charlotte to purchase supplies – we are in Lexington SC and by the way I graduated from Anderson College – Nancy before it was a 4 year school though! So happy that I came across your site. Thank you and we are looking forward to all we can learn from you. Dodie

    • timrodlady says:

My daughter found some in Charlotte at Michael’s at their after Christmas sale. She got me 6 rolls. It is the first I have seen that color. You are right the rest is turquoise not the UNC blue. I live in SC but am from NC and attended UNC also. I have lots of request for UNC wreaths and now I can fill these. I found blue/white combo for Duke and red/white combo for NC State from either Trendy Trees or MardiGras Outlet. Cant remember which. I have a feeling that Michaels had that made just for them as none of the other vendors that I deal with have it. Hope this helps.

Hi – I’m Martha. I’ve been a floral designer off and on for 10 years or so. I had a home based business doing weddings, but found it difficult dealing with perishable flowers out of my home. My hope is to start a wreath business using silk and possibly dried flowers at some point. I’m hoping to find some valuable information to help in my success on ebay, etsy and anything else that may be a good outlet to sell. I am married and have 2 children. Thank you in advance for your help!

  11. huttly@comcast.net says:

Hi, I’m Thom. I recently retired after 37 years from teaching high school English. I’ve been making wreaths for a little over a year and I love doing it. I’ve probably made 10-12 in that time. Friends and family like what I have made, but I’m interested in knowing if I have any real talent at this. And if I do, I’d like to make some money at it as it’s becoming clear that if I don’t sell some of what I make, I won’t be able to continue this hobby. I never intended to do this as a financial venture, but it’s not financially feasible to continue making wreaths for friends and family alone. I’m looking forward to learning the ins and outs of this profession, and I do call it a profession because many of the wreaths I see are works of art. I want to make the best wreaths of which I am capable.

  12. huttly@comcast.net says:

How do I upload photos directly from my computer? That seems pretty basic, but all I get in FAQis that I have to upload them to a third-party site. I don’t want to do that.

    • Linda says:

Welcome Thom! You have come to the right place to learn about making money making wreaths! Nancy has been doing it for years and several of our members are making money!

I encourage you to get on the forum and introduce yourself there.

The forum allows you to display images that are already residing on the Internet. As you have found, we offer instructions on how to upload your images to sites like PhotoBucket and then grab the URL to display the image in the forum.
Since you will be selling on Etsy and Facebook and Ebay, you will need to have your images hosted somewhere as well.

Can’t wait to see some of your work.
      See you in the forum.

      Linda

    Hello Everyone,

I actually was a hairdresser for about 30 years and then I got into floral arranging by accident and here I am. I owned a shop for 8 years and have been selling on eBay for a while. I am hoping my business will pick up by learning some things from Nancy and Linda.

My time is limited, because I will be out of town for a while and I am downsizing at home. Years of collecting and three households of goods. I am sure we have all been there.

Anyway, I will be looking forward to talking with all of you and know I will learn some much needed experience from Nancy.

I am not doing near as well as I would like on eBay. I also get newsletters from Jim C. and I am so busy I can’t get to everything and I feel it is hard for me to learn new things, but I am going to try.

Thanks to Nancy and Linda, and I appreciate all that you do. Just be patient with this old lady. Ha!

Hello I am Debra, I have been a member for about a month now. I am married, have a grown son – Shad and a daughter – Pennye. I am the grandmother of a beautiful granddaugher Eden, two handsome grandsons – Isaiah and TJ and greatgrandmother of Falyn. I live in the beautiful part of Texas called the hill country. I have had an interest in floral designs for a very long time and decided “hey” I am going to try. Finding Nancy has been a blessing – because there is so much valuable information. I have made 6 wreaths so far and am having so much fun. I am in the process of getting things lined out for my online business. Looking forward to getting to know other members and learning and hopefully making a profit in time. God’s blessing on each of you.

    Hello again,

I am logged in as rmdickjr@……… I wanted to tell you that my name is Janice Dick. I forgot to do that.

I would like to know how everyone else is doing on selling on eBay. I have been on for a while, but I do not sell near as much as I would like. I service my customers quickly and pleasantly and I feel I do nice work, but things are just not selling. I am not very good at this computer stuff, so I do not know how to download photos on here and i do not know how to use templates and a lot more. I just do the basics.
Does anybody have any ideas on how I could sell more. I also have my ebay set up to go to facebook. I have also tried Etsy, but not much luck there either.

    • Nancy says:

      Hi Janice,

We have had discussions about eBay vs Etsy in the forums. Ebay is different than it used to be. Things changed about 4 to 5 years ago, and at the same time eBay started making many changes which were detrimental to their Power Sellers. I had been one of those Power Sellers for many years, but finally (almost totally) left eBay. I still have some items in my store, and list a few wreaths from time to time just to keep up my presence there.

Etsy is amazing, and is growing very fast. I do sell from Etsy, and from my website. You’ll find hints and tricks in Best of Nancy which help you do that.

Great to have you here! Welcome!

Hello! My name is Carol, and I live in Dawsonville, GA–originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a Pittsburgh Steeler Fan! I am the Mother of 3 wonderful boys who have been the ‘Joy’ of my life, and a Grandmother to “10″ beautiful grandchildren. I have a “passion” for wreath design, and I am so eager and excited to be a part of “Best of Nancy”! I have created 3 wreaths thus far, and believe you me, I am ‘addicted’! Since I am a beginner, my goal is to gather as much information as possible–from creating a business plan to selling on Facebook, EBay, and Etsy from Nancy and Linda. Nancy, you are the “Energizer Bunny,” and I admire you not only as a person, but am in ‘awe’ of your talent and creativity. I want to become a “Productive Human Being,” and wreath design has brought so much joy into my life. Looking forward to working with both you and Linda!

    • Nancy says:

      Well, Hello Carol!
Linda and I are happy to have you with us! You seem to have that “passion” that I have always had. It is a blessing, such a JOY, to love doing something so very much, and to be blessed to be able to do it every day. You are in the right place! We have so much help and information in Best of Nancy, don’t be overwhelmed at first. Just take one step and a time, and you’ll be off to an excellent start!

      Again… Welcome!

Hello, my name is Linda and I live in Mesquite, Texas. I am a mother to four children, two boys and two girls; grandmother to 9 and great grandmother to 1. I have worked with both fresh and silk flowers in the past but found that I like silk and dried arrangements much better. Up until now, I have just made wreaths and arrangements to give as gifts or donate to events where they were auctioned. I would like to branch out a bit and see if I could sell some of my creations but am at a loss as to how to begin. I found Ladybug Wreaths and was immediately hooked because I always called my small home creations Ladybug Designs (and I included a small ladybug in whatever I made). It just seemed like I was meant to be here and learn from Nancy and Linda. I am anxious to learn about growing a business and selling on etsy and online.

So I’m ready to learn how to start selling wreaths! Nancy and Linda I look forward to working with both of you.

Hi Sue-Anne from Colorado! Welcome! I am happy to hear you love making wreaths. And, you definitely CAN sell them bring in extra income. So, in Best of Nancy, we teach you how to set up a business plan, set up an Etsy store, a Facebook Fan page, as well as a Facebook store. I have DVDs available to teach you how to actually make a wreath. Sounds like you already know some of that part, though.

Anyway, Linda and I are SO happy to have you in the coaching club. Please make your self at home and look around. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you find here!

Good Afternoon, my name is Nadine from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I work full time for the local school district and have an addiction to pretty ribbon and gorgeous wreaths. I enjoby making sports wreaths, Louisiana wreaths, and holiday wreaths. I make and send wreaths as a congratulations as well as condolences. I have wreaths for sale on Etsy and recently the LSU Leisure Class Director contacted me to teach a leisure class at LSU on making a “Deco Wreath: Team Spirit”, to adults interested in making a sports wreath. I am really exited about this venture. In this forum, I hope to learn from everyone from those with much more experience than I have, especially from Nancy.

    • Nancy says:

      Welcome Nadine,

We in Best of Nancy are happy that you decided to try out our week long trial. I also enjoy ribbon, and gorgeous wreaths. Sports wreaths are fun to make — I don’t get to make as many as I would like.

I looked at your wreaths on Etsy, they are very pretty.

We have a lot of women in the forums, and I know you will enjoy the help and support we each give each other.

      WELCOME… Nancy

Nadine, you haven’t been able to get into the forum yet. The forum isn’t accessible to those who have joined under the $1.00 trial. If you decide to stay on with us, you will then have access to our forums then. Where you are posting now is only in the comment section.

Hope you are enjoying the training in Best of Nancy!

  22. Nadine says:

I need some help with bows made from raffia for my Louisiana wreaths. When I tie the bows in a traditional “bow” sash method, the bow is too flat. I need something puffy. Any suggestions?

    • Nancy says:

      Hi Nadine,

When you are using raffia, it takes many yards to make a full bow. I usually use 5 or 6 strands of it together, and wrap it back and forth numerous times before tying it. Then, if you tie it tightly enough, you’ll be able to squish it together in the middle making it stand up some. You can also pull on the loops at the same time, making it seem really full.

      Good luck, Nancy

        Hi Nancy,

I was waiting for pinterest to contact me, since you invited me, but I guess that is not how it works. I cannot figure out what I am suppose to do. I entered my email address, but nothing happened. What do you recommend? I guess I should watch the video again. Would that help? Thanks nancy.

  24. ofrenzo@gmail.com says:

Nancy: I want to thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your
“family” if only for 1 week. I am one of the lucky 25 that was able to check out your
web site for the $1.00 fee. I have been a fan of your wreaths for the last 4 or 5 years
as I noticed many beautiful wreaths and all made be the same very talented lady.
I liked to get on ebay and look at all the wreaths that were for sale. Nancy, I could alway tell one of your wreaths even before I checked out who was the seller. I have purchased a few of your dvds and even bought the secret seller’s list. This $1.00, 1 week chance to check out the Best of Nancy web site was really inspirational to me.
My mane is Judy Frenz. I live in St. Louis, MO. Currently I’m unemployed after being laid off from my office job of 39 years. What can I say? These are tough times
for everyone. I was introduced to floral design over 20 years ago. I had a wonderful
friend and neighbor who taught me the basics and I like to think that I have improved
over the years. In the past, from time to time, I would dream of selling on ebay.
I hope that I can make it a reality. I learned alot this past week and took alot of notes
on how to set up an Etsy account. As I did not grow up in the computer age, but came
to it later in life, I’m going to wait until my son visits and have him help. Nancy, I learned so much from you this week. Just watching your video on how to box a wreath
for shipping was worth the $1.00. I am very disappointed that I can not continue being part of the Best Of Nancy group. I know that I could really learn alot. But since
I’m not working right now I can’t justify the expense. But let me say that the monthly fee is very reasonable for all the help you are giving us. I’m hoping that my situation
changes soon and I can become a permanent members of the Best Of Nancy family.
Once again, thank you soooooo much. I will continue to look forward to your e-mails.
    Judy Frenz

    Hi Linda,

I just went on facebook and said I had an invite, but when I got on that page it wanted me to complete a survey for taco bell, win cadillac and something else. How do I sign up and not have to do all that?

  26. rmdickjr@charter.net says:

    Hi,

This is Jan again. I am having a terrible time getting an account on Pinterest. I had ask to be invited before I ask you , so I gave them my email address. Then you gave me that link and I tried to set up an account and it says that email was already in use, so I emailed them and they said to try again doing this that and the other and it still does the same thing. I waited about a week or so to be invited before you sent me the link. Now it has been about 2 or more weeks and they never did send me an invite. So I sent another email tonight. How am I suppose to get on there? I am so aggravated. Any info appreciated.

    Thanks, Jan
